In 1910, the New York-based Automobile Club of America published a guide to getting around New York and New England. The book also featured a section on ‘State Motor Laws’.

They are illuminating and of their time.

In Alabama driver’s don’t need a driving license. In Florida, rear lights are not needed. In New Mexico there are no laws. None. The Speed limit in Wisconsin is 12mph.
