On Sunday May 8 1960, Charles W. Cushman (born Poseyville, Indiana, on July 30, 1896; died San Francisco, California June 8, 1972) arrived in Paris, France. One day earlier he’d arrived in Paris on an Air France jet 707 from Los Angeles, a customer of the Thomas Cook & Son Classic Grand Tour.
This gallery records his journey around the city with his camera and rolls of Kodachrome film a for the next four days. Cushman was financially independent and strictly an amateur photographer. His pictures bear witness to what he saw.
