THE 1980s gave us Ronald Rayguns, Maggie Thatcher’s trademark iron, baggy linen jackets, shoulder pads and big hair. Evidence of this decade of excess and bigness can be seen atop the children of that era. They wore it on their heads. Hair that had been whipped in the 1970s now went tighter than Joan Collins’ vowels. Gels and backcombing were the buzzwords. These looks were once considered cool. Most are now as cool as a wasabi enema:
