By now you’ll be wondering what life was like at Paris Jewelers, of 336 Summit St., Toledo, Ohio in the late 1940s and early 1950s. We don’t know the exact date when these Kodachromes were taken. But they’re selling a Philco tube radio (Model 53-561) and a 1949 Zenith. And those are Bulova watches, named after New York City watchmaker Joseph Bulova. And that is a pressure cooker, which might not be jewelery unless you get her a really big ankle chain to keep in ever handy.
Do you know who these people are? Maybe you shopped at Paris Jewelers one your way to the nearby Tiedtke’s department store, or Lasalle & Koch, Lamson Brothers and the Lion Store? Back them Summit Street was a shopping mecca.
