Libby Hall shares these great pictures of bookstalls on London’s Farringdon Road in 1966. “Two lots of lens tests,” she writes. “One from the roof of the building where I worked, and another, at another time with another lens, at street level.”
On a personal note, this is were I used to live. It’s remains a favorite part of London, on the edges of both the West End and the City, round the corner from Leather Lane and Clerkenwell, short walks away from Old Street and Islington. It still looks the same, busy, a bit grotty and unloved. Central London’s not all shiny, international and corporate. Not yet.
