Otto Pfenninger (born Switzerland, 5 April 1855; died England, 20 March 1929) emigrated to England in the 1880s, where he met and married an English woman, Sophia Loose, and set up business at a portrait studio at 79 West Street, Brighton., working under the name O. P. Suisse.
In 1905 he produced a wonderful camera of his own design; a machine formed of three of color separated plates to capture a full-color image in a single exposure. In 1906, he took his camera, the New Means in Colour-Kinematography, to the beach:
