Charlie Chaplin Is Knighted: March 4 1975

Veteran movie comedian Charles Chaplin pictured during a recent visit to London in 1974, received a knighthood in the New Year’s honors announced from Buckingham Palace. The 85 year old Chaplin has spent only a little of the past sixty years in Great Britain although he has always retained his British nationality.
