Cher (born Cherilyn Sarkisian on May 20, 1946) is a megastar. Charming, talented and youthful in the 1960s (she sang backing vocal on the Ronettes’ epic Be My Baby and with husband Sonny Bony assured us “I got you babe”); alluring in the 1970s – those outfits (phwaor!) and that hair; glorious and edgy in the 1980s – she won an Oscar for her performance in Moonstruck, and introduced a million artists to Autotune (“I was the first! Believe was such a horrible song,” she say); stylish, daring and glamorous throughout her career. Not too shabby for a Half Breed.
