WHEN British American Tobacco ran an advert for Vype e-cigarettes in an iPad game aimed at children, we wondered if this was a new direction in tobacco advertising. It isn’t. BAT apologised. But it was only tapping into an old way of doing things. Back in the 1950s and 1960s, kids and tobacco went well together:
