In the 1970s, playgrounds looked a lot like this one in Pimlico, London. The picture appears to be taken with black and white film, but it might be in colour. It was that grim.
On a personal note, when I first saw these photos, I thought of two things: white dog turds and massive spring rolls bought from the Chinese take away / chip shop. You don’t see either of them very much any more.
