Mark Susina shares these found photos of a street festival in Dixon Illinois Street Festival back in 1959. What do we know of Dixon? Well, locals know a lot, of course. But the popular highlights tells us Dixon is the boyhood home of former US President Ronald Reagan. It’s home to the Lincoln Monument State Memorial, marking the spot where Abraham Lincoln joined the Illinois militia at Fort Dixon in 1832 during the Black Hawk War. And it is 103 miles from Chicago.
